DTM Trophy debut for young Swiss

The third of seven DTM Trophy race weekends is scheduled for the upcoming weekend. The team from Witten will be chasing points with three Audi R8 LMS GT cars on the short circuit of the Nürburgring GP circuit.

As usual, the Audi R8 LMS GT with the #17 will be driven by Sophie Hofmann (DE). After struggling with slight health problems at the Lausitzring, she hopes to match her performance from the season opener at the Nürburgring. Lucas Mauron (CH), who has had a lot of bad luck so far this season, also wants to finally be among the front runners in the Eifel and score his first points.

Miklas Born (CH) will be driving in the DTM Trophy for the first time. The 19-year-old Swiss, who is currently competing in the GT World Challenge Europe, will pilot the team’s third car. “The DTM Trophy is a very exciting series for junior drivers and I’m looking forward to competing here. It will certainly be a change from the GT3 car I usually drive, but I’m happy to take on new challenges.”

The DTM Trophy competes as part of the DTM. The third race weekend will take place from August 20-22 at the Nürburgring GP circuit. On Saturday and Sunday, qualifying and one race each are on the schedule. The races will be broadcast live on free-TV on SPORT1 and streamed on DTM Grid (grid.dtm.com). On DTM’s own platform, the practice and qualifying sessions are also available to fans in front of the screens.
