A finale in a class of its own – this weekend, the last two races of the 2021 DTM Trophy season will take place on the street circuit in Nuremberg. For Heide-Motorsport, the first season in the production-based GT series for young drivers within the framework of the DTM is set to end on a conciliatory note.
The past race weekend was mixed for the Audi team from Witten. The Audi R8 LMS GT was not competitive due to the vehicle classification and so two sixth places for Lucas Mauron (CH) were the maximum. Sophie Hofmann (DE) had a pleasing result, finishing in the points for the first time on Sunday and adding two points to her tally.
At the Norisring, the aim now is to end the debut season with a sense of achievement. With three podium finishes and a victory at the TT circuit in Assen, Heide-Motorsport has already been able to prove several times what potential car and team have. This is to be fully exploited again this weekend and lead to success on the 2.3km track. As usual, Sophie Hofmann (DE), Lucas Mauron (CH) and Sebastian Kornely (DE) will be driving the three Audi R8 LMS GT cars.
The community in the motorsport family, which is also very close to the heart of the team from Witten, must not be neglected. In addition to autograph sessions by the three drivers and give-aways for our young fans, donations will continue to be collected for the flood victims along the Ahr river under the hashtag #raceAHRdonation.
Further information on the fundraising campaign will always be posted on www.raceahrdonation.com.
